No no no no no. My culture is NOT a costume and nor is it art for you.
ok so i get where you would be upset but i never said this was native american. i said it was native, meaning earthly, and just so you know.My fiance is half Cherokee. and where do you get costume from this?
First off, dreamcatchers are a native thing. Sorry to pop that bubble. Secondly, native does not mean “earthy”. You have chosen to draw a ‘scene’ girl with facepaint and dreamcatcher earrings, which is not ok. It might be your fiancés culture, but it’s notyour culture. You do not know what it is like to have everything you look up to and live by be torn from you and our culture is not for you to take as “art”. Thank you. P.S. Costumes can also refer to a character you draw with certain clothing or face paint on.
it is MY culture. i am native american as well. i shouldn’t have to be scolded for drawing something that is mine as well. you are not the only native american on this planet. i am also “scene” this drawing was an embodiment of both of my cultures mixed. if you are so narrow minded to believe only what you see on the outside maybe you should have everything ripped away. i am native american had you known that you may not have tried so hard to throw such a big fit about something you have no idea about. i am not explaining myself, or my art and racial orientation, to someone who can’t find better things to do than judge someone before they even know who, or what, they really are.
